Sam graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. and graduated from Pepperdine University with an MBA. Now semi-retired, Sam Burd consults developing new products and assists entrepreneurial start-up companies. Sam has extensive experience engineering and managing development of medical & biotech devices.   He lectured for 9 years at UC Berkeley on starting-up businesses and volunteers for socially responsible non-profits.   Strengths include mechanical engineering (especially MEMS, micro-fluidics, precision alignments, miniaturization, and interactive chemistry based systems); project management; and team building. He has 19 US patents, formed & ran Medical and Biotech Developments, Inc., was CEO of Si Valley Instruments, managed a 700 person-manufacturing department, formed a 501C3, and held starting independent consulting workshops.
